We are sad to learn of the passing of young Connor Michalek. He passed away recently after a courageous battle with Pediatric Brain Cancer.

Brett had the honor of meeting Connor last year at a Pittsburgh Pirates game.

From June 2013:Keisel meets a special fan…

Brett had the chance to say hello to Connor Michalek at the Pirates game:

From Craig McConnell via Twitter:

“Huge thanks for taking time to meet Connor and his teammates yesterday. Great day for the kid.”

“Great meeting you guys. I’m a huge Connor fan!”–Keisel

Seven year-old Connor Michalek is a Hampton resident who has battled severe brain and spine cancer for several years but has continued to play baseball through all of his ups and downs. Baseball has been one of the few things that has helped distract him and his family from the many hours of doctors visits, testing and intense chemotherapy.

Connor was also a huge fan of the WWE. The WWE set up a charity fund called Connor’s Cure to help with pediatric brain and spinal cancer research, as well as medical care for kids and their families.

Please keep Connor’s family in your thoughts and prayers. We are glad to hear Connor’s courageous fight will live on and he will continue helping others through Connor’s Cure!

Thank you to Craig McConnell for the information!
